The SAS/O Library is housed as a separate collection within the Western Philatelic Library building in Sunnyvale, California, USA, but maintained by our own Librarian. In addition to an extensive separate collection, the SAS/O Library has access to the much larger collection of the WPL. The WPL and SAS/O library titles can be digitally accessed through the website of the American Philatelic Research Library Online Catalogue
Borrowing
The Librarian is willing to do bibliographic searches for SAS/O Members who are researching a philatelic problem in Pacific philately.
Library materials may be borrowed by SAS/O Members only. Contact the Librarian [hot link please] for assistance and advice. The Librarian may photocopy or scan the materials you request rather than sending you the originals. The Librarian will advise if postage and packing or other costs must be reimbursed, and an estimate can be provided in advance, if requested. Because of the greater cost and customs issues, SAS/O prefers not to send books outside of the USA. Insurance in both directions may be required, depending upon the material posted.
Original materials may be borrowed for one month. The Librarian will include the due date when materials are posted. An extension for one additional month is possible upon request, depending upon other user requests on file.
Donating
The SAS/O Library has been built by donations of books, catalogs and journals from Members’ personal libraries, and many of our most prized volumes bear a former Member’s bookplate. Our Library is also the beneficiary of donations by authors and publishers who have sent review copies to The Informer or directly deposited a copy in our Library. Purchases are a very minor third method of building our Library.
Donations will be acknowledged by the SAS/O Treasurer, and the value of the donations may be deductible for USA income taxes. Please consult your own tax advisor if this is important to you.

Title List
The list of titles held by the SAS/O Library will be forthcoming as part of the consolidated data base plan by the American Philatelic Research Library project to link all major philatelic library collections.
